People now use Hanging Paper Lanterns more often to decorate places where happy occasions are staged. Besides these celebration events, these lanterns also are used permanently to illuminate the insides of buildings as well as gardens.
Some types of Hanging Paper Lanterns have to be assembled after purchasing, although assembled products also are available on the market. Even if you buy one without assembling, the procedure putting it together is not difficult. A maximum of 20 minutes is sufficient to assemble a Hanging Paper Lantern that comes as a kit.
If you buy a hanging paper lantern, you can see that many are accompanied with a metal widener tool. In addition, a cord has to be used that must be purchased separately. Mostly these cords are 10 to 15 feet in length and if you are in need of more length, you have to use an extension cord.
Though the procedure for assembling is easy, you have to be careful when using the widener to fully open the lantern because it can tear the paper material. In addition, skeletons of these lanterns are made with collapsible wires. This makes packaging and mailing easier because it can be flattened to make shipping more effective. The metal gadget is needed to expand the flattened lamp to its original position.
After expanding the lantern to its original position, attach the cord. Position the cord on a wall, using hooks to attach the cord to the ceiling. To strengthen the attachment of the cord, use a good tape. However, hooks are the best method to attach the cord. Then join the lantern at the end of the cord in accordance with your preference.
Then all you do is install the bulb in the lantern leaving enough space on both sides to avoid contact with the paper material that might cause a fire. Many people use CFL bulbs when assembling paper lanterns as they produce a lower quantity of heat than incandescent lights. The lights should be supplied with appropriately low wattage minimizing the possibility of creating a fire. Once you have finished installing the light, switch it on and see whether your lantern illuminates. Sometimes, due to faulty assembly, it may not work. If it is the case, unscrew the bulb and take the light out and re-install it again for proper usage.
